As promised... here is the schedule for next week!

For people playing in Strings Concert, prac originally planned for this week is cancelled. So prac those songs on your own, but please get the Impressione songs done first! Then we'll spam pracs after Impressione is done xD



Yup yup! Concert is in about TWO WEEKS time... you know what to do.
Yes of course, invite your friends and family to come! But please prac prac prac :)

There's gonna be a lot of pracs coming up, and full-day ones too. So enjoy band pracs while it lasts (haha...) and stay healthy, keep your lips strong and good! oh yes! and remember to do your holiday homework as well :P

Okay I'll post confirmed band practice dates here:

November: 7 Nov, 14 Nov, 16 Nov, 18 Nov, 20 Nov, 21 Nov, 23 Nov, 25 Nov, 27 Nov, 28 Nov (CONCERT!!)

Yupp we'll be stopping practice for this week, because of oral presentation practice and stuff. But please remember to have sectionals!! So that our standard doesn't deteriorate too drastically.

Anyway my main point of posting is to tell you guys that you did really well for band practice today!! :D I was honestly very encouraged by the standard and the effort that you guys are putting in. and we really really can do it for the concert if we continue practicing and being hardworking. Orient Express may be tough, but really... we can play it well if all of us are willing to put in the effort. (: and the same goes to all the other pieces as well... So I hope that we can all keep up the good work... And last all the way until 28 Nov for the concert.

jiayou and if you need anybody to rant to, confide in or to help you along... just look for anyone in your section, your sl or the committee. we'll always be here to help! :D

anddd okay even though the comm complains about my use of cliche sentences, I'm still going to complete my post with one.

you guys really really have the potential to play well, and exploit it by all means. We'll make a really good band if everyone puts in their fair share of effort. (((: JIAYOU. :D:D

If you are checking this out means you are free/not mugging/taking a break from mugging/feel like checking this out. Whatever the reasons, pls dedicate the next 15 minutes(or so) of ur time and read on!! =)

08/08/09 marks a day so special that none of us will forget. How could we? Its one day before national day!!

Err... sorry. -.- ITS BAND-FAREWELL 09!!!! Now lift up both ur hands and wave them in the air!! Although its at the extreme end of Singapore, ppl who lived on the other extreme like Mark and luther seems unfazed by the long distance. Jurong point is the location and Pioneer Wharf is the restaurant. What seems like a restaurant for chinese weddings has been raided by teenagers with raging hormones and uncontrollable craziness for 3 hours. We showed so much overwhelming emotions that the older, senile people on the other side of the partition cried out in jealousy, lamenting on the fact that they are too old to relive the best moment of their lives.

Now comes the important part! Here are a list of people whom without which, 08/08/09 would never be so memoriable.

Of course, apart from the normal people who always seem to take the spotlight in this kind of acknowledgements, here are a few special mentions that are worth noticing as well!

-for providing the totally random and retarded gifts there ever is. (ps giftshop keeper must be damn happy.)

mums and dads
-for giving birth to us on the exact year for us to be bandmates and for supporting us to join band. and of course, give us enough pocket money to pay for all the stuff that needs to be paid.

-for giving birth to daughters and sons who are attractive and resourceful enough to find and marry each other, which ultimately leads to us.

public transport drivers
-for providing us with the MRT and the BUS to go jurong point.

-if you are reading this and are feeling grumpy that you haven't been, somehow, acknowledged. Here it is.

FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY!

Hwa Chong Symphonic Band J2 Batch 08-09!!! =) =)
-for without whom, this farewell party would be meaningless
-for without whom, band pracs would be much less boring
-for without whom, juniors will lose all their inspirations (come on man, i'm sure at some point in ur band life, u look up to us xD )
-for without whom, hcband won't be hcband

k, enuff of the self-indulgence. Here's the serious part. J2s are officially 'disbanded'. Our 2, 6, 10 years of band life have officially ended, just like the full-stop that marks the end of this sentence. But the full-stop that ends that sentence cannot end our passion and ur love for music and for hcband. There is still much to say to one another, and there is still much to hear from each other.

Hopefully after today, we will still remember that there is this ill-ventilated room beside the girl's toliet that we used to go to every morning. Hopefully after today, we can still take some time off our insane mugging schedule and chill off together. Hopefully after today, we can still touch our instruments and produce music: good or bad, yaze or soft. Hopefully, someday, we can come together and do it all again.

Here's what we urge u to do. Pick up your phone, or sign into msn-messenger. Scroll through ur contacts. Is there someone u really want to talk to? Is there somebody whom u really want to know better but, still, don't have the chance? Is there something u really want to say to somebody? Be it a little 'thank you for being my sectionmate' or 'thank you for being my friend' or just 'thank you for being there'. We urge u to send a message to those whom u want to shout out loud to. We urge u to send a message to those whom u want to talk cock with. We urge u to send a message to plan the next mugging session. Whatever. If u got something to say, make sure its heard.

Okay! That sums up what we want to say. A bit draggy. But then, our last post lehhh... hehe. We want to take this opportunity to thank all of you: seniors, juniors, batchmates, friends, friends of friends, auntie, uncle, cat, dog, mouse, ants, lizards for making our 2 year so memorable. We hope we achieved what we are supposed to achieve, or what u expected us to achieve. In any case, we tried! =) We really want to give u all a big big hug. But then due to h1n1 issues, we can't do that. xD But the point is:
